I don't know if you modeled it or just rendered it, so I'll give my take on the rendering part ^^. Strongly backlit with strong diagonal lightning? This is a shot from the side, right? I hope you are aware of that your focal point is at his back where his joints are black and the strong backlight is shining through. That's your highest contrast in the whole picture. You should try to have the focal point at the most important part of the model you are trying to render, like the head, or a weapon.
Anyway, I like the background and the frame is a sound idea because of the lightness of the rendering. One last thing about the model before I bury the hatchett. Repeating shapes make the form flow better.
